Are you ready to transform your relationship with your dog? To understand your dog’s behaviors and take the correct steps to helping your dog become a calm, confident, obedient, reliable, neutral dog that wants to work for you based on respect rather than treats?
Do you want your dog to have a full life – to be able to go to cafes, camping trips, friends houses and be a model dog in real world scenarios?
Generally, people assume a dog that can sit, stay, roll over, etc is a well-trained dog. Yes, that dog has been taught obedience. Obedience is an important part of dog training but only about 15% of what is actually needed. The most crucial part to focus on when trying to help your dog with any behaviours is without doubt 85% of leadership.
One of the most important pieces of the puzzle to having a mentally healthy dog is YOU! Who you are as a human is the difference between a well-behaved dog or a nervous, scared, over excited, neurotic, anxious, barking, digging, escaping, aggressive, reactive dog.
Understand your dog’s behavior and learn strategies to improve your relationship NOW!
Specialising in Dog Psychology
Kat’s 4 Dogs specialise’s in dog psychology and takes a holistic approach to achieve exceptional results.
I am finding that dog training has taken a big swing to human psychology which creates confusion and a broken line of communication between dog and owner. Treating a dog as a different species (like a human) is very stressful to a dog. If your dog is over humanised, you will see behavioural problems. The only way your dog can tell you it’s stressed, anxious, confused or overwhelmed is to act badly. To get the ultimate results when looking at dog training it’s crucial to focus on dog psychology.
Yes, I understand that obedience is coming from human psychology which is fine. However, there is a way to have it all and find a balance that works for humans and dogs. When people try to change behaviour using obedience inside the home, you will not get sustainable results. You shouldn’t have to use food to get your dog to do what it’s told. If your dog doesn’t listen to you, bottom line, it doesn’t respect you. All dogs make choices, it’s a choice not to listen. If you do not bring obedience and leadership together correctly you will either plateau out or have extremely inconsistent results.
Believe it or not, your dogs behaviour whilst maybe frustrating to you and others, is purely a cry for help. No dog wants to behave badly but without the correct guidance and direction from a strong, confident human, your dog gets stuck and confused, your dog then makes poor decisions which ultimately affects everyone.

If you are experiencing behaviour problems with your dog, you need an In Home Assessment and Behavioural Modification session.

Most reactive dogs are either scared, excited or anxious. This program works first on behaviour modifications at home, and then introduces exposure for you and your dog in the real world.
Hi, I’m Kat…
KATRINA BOYD • OWNER
I am an expert in my field and differ from all other dog trainers in Noosa and the Sunshine Coast. I will help you and your dog connect on a deeper level. A level that brings you together with a stronger bond and overall healthier existence.
YOUR DOGS MENTAL HEALTH IS MY PASSION! I see so many people spending huge amounts of money on material things for their dogs. Imagine investing the same amount of money into their mental health?
My method focuses on communication through body language and energy, without relying on treats. Whilst treats can play a part in certain areas of dog training, my aim is that your dog wants to please you as a human, not because you provide treats. There is nothing more rewarding than your dog showing you respect as a leader. Pleasing you because of a strong, healthy, respectful relationship.
My job is to simplify things for you and give you a true understanding of what your dog is trying to tell you. My unique training philosophy utilises body language and energy to communicate with your dog, fostering a natural and lasting bond.
I have over 16 years extensive dog behavioural and training experience and a deep understanding of dog psychology to ensure the best possible outcomes for you and your dog.
I believe in addressing the whole dog, considering their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. My commonsense approach will keep things simple for you.
If you are truly ready to change, I’m ready to help!
